Meet the aardvark in their burrow, with feeding and encounter experience.
The Aardvark Experience is a captivating 30-minute adventure that brings you face-to-face with one of the animal kingdom’s most unique creatures. During this intimate encounter, you’ll have the rare opportunity to feed the park’s resident aardvarks, observing their powerful digging claws and distinctive long snouts up close as they eagerly enjoy their meal.
As you interact with these fascinating animals, the expert keeper will share intriguing insights into the aardvark’s behavior, diet, and natural habitat. You’ll learn about their nocturnal habits, their role in the ecosystem as expert insect hunters, and the conservation challenges they face in the wild.
This experience not only allows you to connect with these mysterious animals but also deepens your understanding and appreciation of their place in the animal world. Whether you’re an animal enthusiast or simply curious about this unusual species, the Aardvark Experience offers a memorable and educational encounter that you’ll cherish long after your visit.

- You have the choice to book your experience date at the time of purchase, or you can order a 12-month gift e-voucher.
- If you wish to book a date at the time of purchase, please follow the instructions on this page.
- Alternatively, you can purchase a gift e-voucher with 12 months validity, which is emailed to the purchaser of the voucher within 5 working days of receipt of your order. If you wish for this e-voucher to be sent to a different email address, please specify this in the Notes section at checkout.

Very informative staff, passionate about the animal welfare within the park, and also the wider area of their conservation in the wild.
It was such a privilege to get so close to these wonderful animals, and to learn so much about them.
I would highly recommend.
The park is very well managed and the animals live as much within their recreated natural environments as possible. This means that you may have to go round more than once to catch sight of every resident. That’s OK. It means that they are able to exhibit their natural behaviours.

Fantastic day at Shepreth, particularly the Aardvark experience. Utterly delightful creatures which don’t mind being fussed at all! Very informative keepers for all the enclosures – make sure you follow the timetable for all the animals and you’ll get the most of the day. Great for kids and adults alike. 100% recommended.
