The Red Panda Experience is a magical 30-minute encounter that brings you face-to-face with one of the park’s most beloved residents. During this enchanting experience, you’ll have the rare opportunity to feed the red pandas, offering them their favorite treats as they delicately take food right from your hand.
As you interact with these gentle, tree-dwelling creatures, you’ll be captivated by their soft fur, bushy tails, and expressive eyes. The park’s knowledgeable keeper will accompany you, sharing fascinating insights into the red pandas’ unique behaviours, diet, and the conservation challenges they face in the wild.
You’ll learn about the red pandas’ natural habitat in the forests of the Himalayas and their status as an endangered species. The keepers will also explain the vital conservation work being done to protect these charming animals, both in the wild and in captivity.
The Red Panda Experience offers a peaceful and intimate encounter with these gentle creatures, making it a must for wildlife enthusiasts and anyone who appreciates the beauty and charm of one of nature’s most endearing animals.

PLEASE NOTE: This experience requires the participant to climb over a wall and up and down a ladder. To keep you safe and comply with health and safety regulations, there is a body weight restriction of 150kg for this experience.

I would thoroughly recommend this experience. I took part today with my daughter and keeper Lucy. I cannot praise Lucy enough. She was incredibly helpful. I am quite a large lady and she did everything she could to help me climb into the enclosure. Once we were in we had an incredible time feeding these beautiful animals. They are so gentle with gorgeous faces close up. Never did we feel rushed by her at all. She was very knowledgeable about lots of the other animals. It was truly an unforgettable experience. welcome when we arrived & very efficient booking in with good information. Hannah was the keeper who took us into the red panda enclosure. She was wonderful, giving great information about red pandas & doing everything to ensure we had the best time. She is clearly passionate about these adorable animals & one cannot help but fall in love with them ❤️
You get to meet them up close & feed them their favourite fruit. They take the fruit from your hands so gently & lick your hands to get all the juice. The 30 minutes spent with them races by, but you do not feel rushed. We got some awesome photos of the 2 red pandas.
The experience includes free admission to the Wildlife Park, which we really enjoyed. We were both extremely impressed with the entire place. The animals are in spacious enclosures with lots of enrichment. The staff are all friendly & helpful. Shout out to Simon who was brilliant. We really enjoyed the keeper talks which were entertaining as well as informative. The facilities are excellent with lots of great play areas for children & excellent signage everywhere. The cafe was very good too.

We had a Red Panda experience on 5th August 2026 and both absolutely loved the experience. Clear instructions given as we arrived and directed where to go and what time for. When it got to the experience time everything was organized and we both got a pouch of fruit to feed the red pandas. We was told they have their fruit once a day so they are both very excited for their snacks. They were both incredibly gentle when taking the food and can do paw and stand on their back legs and you can rub their belly while they do this. The zoo keeper was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had but also gave us the opportunity to have the red pandas full attention during the half hour which was very nice also. There was plenty of opportunities to take any photos of the pandas alone or alongside them while feeding them. Overall the experience was as incredibe as expected and would love to attend again.
The rest of the zoo was also very enjoyable. A range of animals and reptiles were there. We attended a couple of the talks about the bats and the red panda themselves. These were very informative and the bat zone is very unexpected as the bats fly right over your heads. Some animals werent able to be seen as they were hiding or sleeping but the ones we did were very nice to see. Lovely day out and will be visiting again for sure in the future and hopefully another experience with the red pandas or another experience they offer!
